ASK ERMAN -- Well, how much time I gain? :)

Question: How much time do you spend/lose?
Answer: Well, how much time I gain? :)

ASK ERMAN - Erman Arslan's Oracle Forum

Almost 30 issues per month.
Many times more updates.
It's been almost 6 years.

I have written this blog since 03.14.2013. I didn't only try to write as much as I can, but also be picky in choosing my topics. I tried to write unique articles to add a value to Oracle documentation, general community and support. In August 2014, I created a forum to give a voluntarily remote support. Firstly, it was like an extension of my blog, but as the time passes, it has become a very important motivation of mine.

You can ask questions and get remote support using my forum.
Just click on the link named "Erman Arslan's Oracle Forum is available now.
Click here to ask a question", which is available on the main page of Erman Arslan's Oracle Home or just use the direct link: http://ermanarslan.blogspot.com/p/forum.html

ZDLRA - as a Simple and Reliable Migration Solution

Revisited my ZDLRA presentation and added a bonus slide!

ZDLRA presentation:
https://ermanarslan.blogspot.com/2019/12/zdlra-zero-data-loss-recovery-appliance.html

Actually, I was preparing for a web cast and then I discovered something interesting. Something that we don't expect from a backup & recovery solution.

That is, ZDLRA can also be used as a migration tool and it can even manage endian conversions needed in cross platform migrations.

Once we decide to use ZDLRA for a migration, we just engage ZDLRA backup & recovery processes and do some extra (but required) datapump operations to accomplish our migration project.
It is important to mention that, this method is documented well enough.

The details are given in the following Mos Note ->

Cross Platform Database Migration using ZDLRA (Doc ID 2460552.1)
